Welding Takes Center Stage at FABTECH Canada 2018

TORONTO, June 6, 2018 /CNW/ — SME, FMA, AWS, PMA and CCAI, the producers and cosponsors of FABTECH, have announced a larger traditional welding presence at FABTECH Canada, taking place June 12-14 at the Toronto Congress Centre. Leaders in the welding industry, including the Canadian Welding Bureau Group, ESAB Canada and Lincoln Electric, will come together under one roof to support and represent the welding industry in greater Canada. FABTECH Canada is the largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event in the country. This year features six welding-focused educational sessions, along with top industry speakers and access to targeted technical, operational, economic and managerial solutions that address top manufacturing priorities. Welding is a common activity in various industries in Canada like construction, transportation and the military. With ubiquitous conversation on the skills gap in the manufacturing industry, and especially with the growing demand to fill welding positions, spreading knowledge and awareness is a key factor in creating interest among younger generations. The CWB Group delivers education through CWB Education. With the release of Acorn, CWB Group’s educational platform, the organization can approach classroom training with an innovative approach, which encompasses strategies for enhanced knowledge, uptake and retention. It is a flexible learning platform that can be adapted to existing training initiatives. With FABTECH Canada focusing on solutions to advance businesses and careers, it provides the perfect stage for CWB Group’s Acorn program to be featured. “As more industry champions like CWB Group, ESAB Canada and Lincoln Electric come together for FABTECH Canada, attendees have a greater opportunity to discover the solutions needed to advance their careers and businesses,” said John Catalano, senior director, FABTECH, SME. “These organizations deliver efficient, high-productivity solutions to meet customer requirements, and we’re proud to showcase their offerings at our event.” ESAB is a world leader in the production of welding and cutting equipment and consumables. Attendees will have the opportunity to test their newest welding and cutting technology, including Rebel multiprocess welding machines and Cutmaster plasma solutions. ESAB product and application specialists will also be on-site to talk shop so attendees can discover new ways to solve challenges, increase efficiency and lower total cost of production. Lincoln Electric just celebrated its 100th year of operations in Canada and continues to manufacture welding products both in Toronto and Mississauga. The company’s aluminum division manufactures aluminum welding wire for end-users around the world. At FABTECH Canada, Lincoln Electric will demonstrate many new technologies, such as its latest GEMPAK bulk feeding system, combined with the Power Wave aluminum welding solutions; the Low Fume Pulse, an advanced welding process that improves weld productivity and minimizes fume generation at the same time; the Torchmate welding tables, which are manufactured with a plasma cutter and controller to provide a complete solution in one package; and the new Mini Pantheon welding manipulator, designed as a simple solution for pipe spooling.
