LVD STRIPPIT SHOWCASES INDUSTRY 4.0-READY LASER CUTTING, BENDING AND PUNCHING MACHINERY AT FABTECH CANADA
The accuracy of bending operations is assured with LVD’s patented Easy-Form® Laser adaptive bending system, standard on all ToolCell models. Easy-Form Laser provides in-process angle monitoring via laser scanners located on the front and back of the press brake table. The system transmits information in real time to the CNC control, which adjusts to ensure the correct angle. The bending process is not interrupted, and no production time is lost. Using Easy-Form Laser, the machine is able to adapt to material variations such as sheet thickness, strain hardening and grain direction, automatically compensating for any changes. As a result, ToolCell delivers consistent bending results from the first part.
LVD Strippit has recently expanded its line of ToolCell press brakes with the ToolCell 220/30 Plus and ToolCell 220/40 Plus. The Plus models can handle bend lengths of 120” and 157” (3 and 4 m) and deliver up to 240 tons of bending force. They feature an open height of 22.4” (570 mm) to accommodate higher tools. The machines use the taller profile LVD tooling (231 mm punches and 130 mm dies), which allow for the bending of parts with higher flanges.
COMPACT FIBER LASER
The Lynx FL makes it easy to enter the world of fiber laser technology. Powered by a high-efficiency IPG (4 kW) fiber laser source, Lynx provides dynamic, accurate processing of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum with the added versatility to efficiently process metals such as copper and brass. A compact design, Lynx maximizes uptime with an integrated shuttle table system that allows one table to be loaded while the machine is cutting on the other table. Table change time is just 35 seconds.
ELECTRIC-DRIVE PRESS BRAKE
This high-speed electric-drive bending machine delivers fast bending speeds of 59 inches per minute to bend more parts per hour at a lower cost per part. Its ergonomic design permits use in a standing or seated position. Add to this impressive production capabilities, easy to use control and compact size for a press brake that is fast, accurate and flexible. The Dyna-Press standard models 12/8 and 24/12 are equipped with a 2-axis backgauge (X, R). The Dyna-Press 24/12-Plus model has a 4-axis back gauge (X, R, Z1, Z2). The 40-ton Dyna-Press 40/15 Plus has a working length of 60” (1530mm), 4-axis back gauge and Touch-B touch screen CNC control. At FABTECH Canada, the 24/12 Plus model will be featured.
VERSATILE PUNCH PRESS
The Strippit PX-1530 punch press is unlike any machine in its class. It can punch, form, bend and tap to efficiently complete multiple processes, including complex, three-dimensional parts. With a capacity of up to 200 tools, the ability to use any tool at any angle anywhere on the sheet, and the ability to form flanges up to 3” (75 mm) high, this PX-Series machine offers complete versatility.
The single-head system provides 20 indexable tool stations able to hold any size tool, up to a maximum tool diameter of 3.54” (90 mm). Set-up and tool change time is reduced thanks to the circular tool magazine that allows every tool to fully rotate for total flexibility. An Energy Reduction System minimizes the machine’s power consumption.
The Strippit PX-1530 on display will feature the Touch-P control, a touch screen graphical icon driven control designed to easily operate the machine and adjust individual parameters.
SMART MANUFACTURING SOFTWARE
As the trend toward digitalization and smart manufacturing advances, LVD Strippit continues to drive the factory of the future with its integration philosophy and its CADMAN® software suite. The new CADMAN® Suite version 8.5 includes enhancements for every CADMAN module, such as an improved dashboard for more intuitive use, and extends CADMAN’s integration capabilities to include the next generation of LVD’s Touch-P punch press control, as well as non-LVD cutting and punching equipment. CADMAN helps streamline the complete fabrication process to make smart manufacturing possible – starting with a 3D part concept, communication to production control, organizing a shop’s manufacturing flow, to cutting, sorting and bending.
